Reverse description Two standing figures face one another in the central field: at left, Honos, a male personification depicted as a youthful figure lightly draped, raising his right hand and holding a cornucopia or sceptre in his left; at right, Virtus, a helmeted female personification in military dress, holding a spear and resting her foot upon a helmet or piece of armour at her feet. The word ET appears in the upper field between the two figures. The legend HONOS is inscribed to the left field and VIRTVS to the right field, reading vertically. The senatorial authorisation mark S C is prominently placed in the lower exergual area, confirming this bronze issue was struck by decree of the Senate.
