Reverse description The personification of Pax, draped and seated left upon a high-backed throne, extends an olive branch forward in her right hand as a symbol of peace, while her left hand rests upon a long transverse sceptre. The figure is rendered in the classical Roman allegorical tradition, with flowing drapery falling over the throne. The field displays the large senatorial decree monogram S C (Senatus Consulto), flanking the seated figure to left and right. The legend TR POT COS II arcs across the upper field, precisely dating this issue to Trajan's second consulship.
