| Reverse description | The personification of Pax (Peace) is depicted seated to the left upon a throne or bench, rendered in the classical Roman allegorical tradition. She extends an olive branch in her right hand, symbolising peace and reconciliation, while her left hand holds a long sceptre resting against her shoulder. The figure is draped in flowing robes, rendered with characteristic Roman sculptural detail. The large senatorial mark S C (Senatus Consultum) flanks the central figure in the field to either side, affirming the senatorial authority over the bronze coinage. The reverse legend is distributed around the periphery of the coin. |
