| Obverse description | Laureate, draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in high relief with fine portraiture characteristic of the Trajanic period. The emperor wears a laurel wreath with prominent leaves radiating from the brow, and a paludamentum fastened at the right shoulder is visible at the truncation. The bold, bearded effigy displays the characteristic aquiline profile of Trajan. The encircling Latin legend runs clockwise around the obverse field. |
