| Obverse description | Laureate draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and laurel wreath. The effigy displays the emperor with characteristic strong features and a short neck, consistent with Trajanic portraiture of the later reign. The circumferential legend runs around the obverse field, partially obscured by wear and patina on this example. The portrait is executed in the assured, naturalistic style typical of the Rome mint under Trajan. |
