| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, with the paludamentum fastened on the left shoulder, rendered in high relief in the confident portrait style characteristic of Trajanic coinage. The emperor's strong, idealized features are framed by the laurel wreath, a symbol of military triumph and imperial authority. The circumferential Latin legend occupies the full periphery of the flan, reading clockwise from lower left. The portrait exhibits the robust, classicizing naturalism typical of the Roman Imperial workshops active under Trajan's principate. |
