| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, draped and cuirassed, rendered in high relief in the vigorous style characteristic of the Trajanic period. The portrait displays the emperor's strong, mature features with closely cropped hair beneath the laurel wreath. The circular legend runs along the outer border, giving the emperor's full imperial titulature. The flan shows the broad, slightly irregular fabric typical of early second-century Roman sestertii struck at the Rome Mint. |
