| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, with paludamentum visible on the left shoulder, rendered in the high-relief portrait style characteristic of Trajanic coinage. The emperor's effigy is firmly modeled, displaying the characteristic short hair beneath the laurel wreath. The encircling Latin legend runs along the outer border of the coin, naming the emperor with his full titulature. The die work reflects the accomplished craftsmanship of the Rome mint during the early second century AD. |
