| 背面描述 | The reverse depicts the Meta Sudans, the celebrated conical fountain located near the Colosseum in Rome, shown in full frontal view atop a stepped rectangular plinth with a decorative base. The structure tapers to a rounded apex from which water would have flowed, and the plinth is rendered with careful architectural detail including a moulded base and decorative garland. The senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultus) is prominently placed in large letters flanking the monument on either side in the open field. The composition is uncluttered, with no exergue legend, focusing attention on the landmark as a symbol of Titus's building programme in Rome. |
