This sestertius was struck in 75 AD while Titus held tribunician power under Vespasian, making it an issue of the heir apparent rather than a reigning emperor — a distinction that matters for the series. The PAX AVGVSTI type belongs to the broader Flavian program of consolidating legitimacy after the chaos of 69 AD, the Year of the Four Emperors. Vespasian leaned hard on peace imagery precisely because his dynasty had no ancestral claim to it.
