| Beschrijving keerzijde | The personification of Pax depicted standing left in flowing robes, her weight shifted onto her left leg in a relaxed contrapposto stance. In her extended right hand she holds an olive branch directed downward toward the left field, and in her left arm she cradles a cornucopiae, symbol of abundance and prosperity. The legend PAX AVGVSTI arcs across the upper field, flanked by the senatorial authorisation mark S and C divided on either side of the central figure in the lower field. The composition conveys the Flavian dynastic message of peace and imperial beneficence following the conclusion of the Jewish War. |
