| Beschrijving keerzijde | A tall date palm tree dominates the center of the field, serving as the emblematic symbol of Judaea. To the left stands a Roman soldier in military dress, facing right and resting on a spear or standard, his posture conveying martial dominance. To the right, a captive female figure, personifying Judaea, sits in an attitude of mourning and dejection at the base of the palm tree. The legend IVDAEA CAPTA is distributed across the field in two parts flanking the central composition, and the senatorial authorization mark S C appears in the exergue. The scene is a powerful propagandistic commemoration of the Flavian victory over Judaea, first struck under Vespasian and continued under Titus. |
