To the left of the palm, the personification of Judaea is seated in an attitude of mourning, facing left, her head bowed in dejection, resting upon a heap of captured arms and armour. To the right of the palm stands a male captive, facing left with hands bound, depicted in a posture of submission. The large senatorial authorisation mark S C (Senatus Consultum) flanks the central group to left and right, while the abbreviated legend IVD CAP appears above the figures between the palm fronds. |
