A figure identified as Minerva, helmeted and in martial dress, stands to the left of Titus on the platform, overseeing the distribution. Two citizens are depicted to the left, one raising a hand in acknowledgment. The legend CONGIAR PRIMVM PR DAT is distributed around the upper periphery, with the senatorial authority mark S C prominently placed in the lower exergual area. The composition reflects the standard Flavian congiarium type, commemorating Titus's first public largesse to the Roman people. |
