| Aanvullende informatie |
Struck in the brief window between Vespasian's death in June 79 AD and Titus's own death in September 81, this issue commemorates the dynastic succession rather than celebrating a living co-rulership — Vespasian was already gone when the dies were cut. The PROVIDENT legend references the providential foresight of the deified Vespasian in securing the succession, a posthumous political claim Titus pressed hard during his short reign to legitimize Flavian continuity.
Titus died after just over two years in power, making all bronzes attributable solely to his reign among the shorter-production Flavian issues.
