背面描述 Domitian, as Caesar, is depicted on horseback in vigorous gallop to the right, wearing military attire and raising his right hand in a gesture of salute or command, while holding the reins in his left. The horse is rendered in dynamic motion with forelegs raised, conveying martial energy. The circumferential legend CAESAR DOMITIAN COS DES II encircles the central equestrian device, referencing Domitian's designation as consul for the second time. The senatorial authorisation mark S C (Senatus Consulto) appears in the lower field on either side of the horse's hindquarters, confirming this issue's authority under the Roman Senate.

附加信息

Struck in 72 AD under Vespasian, this sestertius names Domitian as consul-designate for the second time — a title awarded before he held any real power, part of Vespasian's careful choreography of dynastic succession. Titus was the designated heir and active military commander; Domitian, the younger and politically sidelined son, received honorific offices as a visible but controlled acknowledgment of his place in the Flavian line. The pairing of both brothers on the same issue was deliberate dynastic signaling in the years immediately following the Jewish War.
