Obverse description Bare-shouldered, laureate bust of Tiberius facing right, rendered in high relief with finely articulated laurel wreath and strong, idealized facial features characteristic of Julio-Claudian portraiture. The bust is set prominently within the coin's field, occupying the majority of the flan. The encircling legend runs along the periphery, interrupted by the bust truncation at lower right. The surface shows the typical broad, flat fabric of early imperial aes coinage struck at Lugdunum.
