Obverse description Divus Augustus enthroned, facing left, depicted in divine majesty as a deified emperor. In his extended right hand he holds a small figure of Victory standing on a globe, while his left hand grasps a tall sceptre. The legend DEO AVGVSTO encircles the field in Latin capitals, affirming his divine status. The throne is rendered with simple but authoritative lines consistent with provincial Hispanic workshop style.
