Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Nerva facing right, draped at the shoulder, rendered with fine portraiture characteristic of the Flavian-Nervan period. The emperor's aged features — prominent brow, aquiline nose, and lined cheeks — are faithfully captured in high relief. The laurel wreath, symbol of imperial authority, crowns the head with individual leaves clearly articulated. The circumferential Latin legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan. The field shows the typical broad, slightly convex surface of the large Roman bronze sestertius format.
