| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Nero facing right, with a small globe at the point of the neck truncation, rendered in the characteristic late Neronian style with full, fleshy facial features and elaborately layered hair. The effigy is depicted bare-necked with naturalistic modeling of the jaw and brow. A continuous Latin legend encircles the portrait within a beaded border. The overall composition reflects the high-relief portraiture typical of Neronian aes coinage struck at the Rome mint. |

| Reverse description | The goddess Roma is depicted seated left upon a cuirass, attired in military dress and wearing a helmet, holding a small figure of Victory in her extended right hand while her left hand rests upon a parazonium. Behind the cuirass, two round shields and one oblong shield are arranged in the field. The composition is bold and emblematic, reflecting the martial dignity of the Roman state. The legend ROMA appears in the field with the senatorial authority mark S C flanking the central design. |
