| Obverse description | Laureate head of Nero facing right, rendered with characteristic fleshy features and elaborate layered hair, a small globe at the base of the neck symbolizing dominion over the world. The portrait is boldly modelled in high relief, typical of Neronian sestertii, with the emperor's youthful but commanding effigy occupying the full width of the flan. The circumferential legend in Latin capital letters runs around the entire periphery of the obverse field. |
