| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Nero facing left, rendered with characteristic fleshy features and elaborately curled hair; a small globe is depicted at the truncation of the neck, symbolizing world dominion. The portrait is executed in high relief typical of Neronian sestertii, with the laurel wreath rendered in fine detail. The encircling legend runs clockwise in well-spaced Latin capitals along the coin's periphery. |

| Reverse description | Nero, bare-headed and cuirassed with his military cloak (paludamentum) billowing dramatically behind him, rides a prancing horse to the right, holding a spear in his right hand. Behind and to his right, a single mounted soldier also riding right bears a vexillum (military standard) over his shoulder, representing an escort during the imperial decursio. The scene commemorates the military parade exercise (decursio) performed by the emperor, conveying an image of martial prowess and imperial leadership. The exergue and field are plain, with the legend divided by the mounted figures. S C (Senatus Consultum) appears in the field, denoting senatorial authorisation for the bronze coinage. |
