| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate head of Nero facing right, with a small globe at the base of the neck truncation, a detail signifying imperial dominion over the world. The portrait is rendered in the robust, idealised style typical of Neronian coinage, with fleshy facial features and a wreath of laurel leaves carefully delineated. The surrounding circular legend in Latin runs nearly the full circumference of the flan. Nero is shown bare-headed and cuirassed, riding a prancing horse to the right, his military cloak (paludamentum) billowing dramatically behind him as he couches a spear. Flanking the emperor are two mounted soldiers, each riding to the left and bearing a vexillum (military standard) over the shoulder, framing the imperial figure in a symmetrical martial composition.
