| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Nero facing right, with aegis visible at the base of the neck, rendered in the characteristic fleshy, idealized portraiture style of the early Neronian period. The emperor's hair is depicted in tight, layered curls arranged across the forehead, with the laurel wreath sitting prominently above. The bust is broad and well-modelled, displaying fine high-relief workmanship typical of the Rome mint sestertii of this period. A raised border of dots frames the effigy, with the encircling legend running from lower left to upper right around the periphery of the obverse field. |
