The emperor's portrait is bold and naturalistic in the high Imperial style, with strong facial features characteristic of Neronian coinage. The encircling legend runs clockwise within a beaded border, occupying most of the field surrounding the portrait. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Allegorical scene depicting Annona and Ceres facing one another across a central modius set upon a garlanded altar. Ceres, veiled and draped, is seated to the left, holding corn-ears and a torch; Annona, draped, stands to the right with her right hand resting on her hip and her left holding a cornucopiae. A ship's stern is visible in the background to the right, alluding to Rome's grain supply by sea. The design is executed in fine relief typical of Julio-Claudian bronze coinage, with the senatorial authorization mark S C prominently placed in the field flanking the central composition. |
