| Obverse description | Bare-headed laureate bust of Nero facing left, rendered with finely engraved curled hair and a small globe at the base of the neck truncation. The emperor's portrait is bold and naturalistic in the high Imperial style, with strong facial features characteristic of Neronian coinage. The encircling legend runs clockwise within a beaded border, occupying most of the field surrounding the portrait. |

Ceres, veiled and draped, is seated to the left, holding corn-ears and a torch; Annona, draped, stands to the right with her right hand resting on her hip and her left holding a cornucopiae. A ship's stern is visible in the background to the right, alluding to Rome's grain supply by sea. The design is executed in fine relief typical of Julio-Claudian bronze coinage, with the senatorial authorization mark S C prominently placed in the field flanking the central composition. |
