Obverse lettering NERO CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG GERM P M TR P IMP P P
(Translation: Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, Pontifex Maximus, Tribunicia Potestas, Imperator, Pater Patriae. Nero Claudius, Caesar, emperor (Augustus), victor over the Germans, high priest, tribunician power, supreme commander (Imperator), father of the country.)
Reverse description The reverse depicts an adlocutio scene in which Nero, shown in military dress and standing on a raised platform (suggestum) to the right, addresses a group of three Praetorian guardsmen standing to the left. Nero extends his right arm in the traditional oratorical gesture of address, while the soldiers carry military standards including an aquila (eagle standard) and a signum. The exergue bears the legend ADLOCVT COH in bold capitals, with the senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) divided across the field to left and right. The scene is rendered in a naturalistic, narrative relief style consistent with Neronian monumental art, conveying imperial authority and military loyalty.
