| Obverse description | Diademed and draped bust of King Kotys II facing right, the hair rendered in wavy locks falling to the neck, with drapery visible at the truncation. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy, reading ΒΑϹΙΛΕΩϹ ΚΟΤΥΟϹ. On certain specimens, a trident symbol appears in the left field before the bust, serving as a die or emission mark. The portrait is rendered in the Hellenistic tradition typical of Bosporan royal coinage of the early 2nd century AD. |

| Reverse description | Nike, the winged goddess of victory, striding briskly to the left in flowing drapery, her wings spread behind her. She extends her right arm forward to present a wreath, while her left hand holds a long palm branch angled over her shoulder. The Greek numeral MH, denoting the denomination of 48 units, is displayed in the field on either side of the central figure — M to the left and H to the right. The bold, open composition is characteristic of Bosporan bronze issues of the Antonine period. |
