| Opis rewersu | Virtus, the personification of Roman military valor, stands facing left in a commanding posture, clad in military attire with one foot resting upon a helmet placed in the lower field. She holds a parazonium (short military sword) in her left hand and an upright spear in her right. The bold senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) is positioned in the lower exergual field to either side of the figure, as was customary on large bronze imperial coinage. The reverse legend is distributed around the periphery of the coin, referencing Hadrian's pontifical, tribunician, and consular titles alongside the Virtus Augusti dedication. |
