| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Hadrian facing right, with a short, neatly cropped beard rendered in fine striated detail, characteristic of the emperor's distinctive portraiture style. The effigy displays a cuirassed or draped shoulder visible at the bust truncation. The circumferential Latin legend runs along the periphery of the flan in bold, well-spaced capitals. The portrait is executed in high relief with naturalistic modelling of the facial features, reflecting the accomplished die engraving of the Rome Mint workshops during the early Hadrianic period. |
