| Description de l’avers | Bare-headed, cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered with characteristic curly hair and short beard in the Hellenistic portrait tradition. The effigy displays fine sculptural detail typical of provincial Greek coinage of the Antonine period. A circular Greek legend surrounds the portrait in the field, reading ΑΥΤΟΚΡΑΤΩΡ ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟΣ, identifying the emperor as Imperator Hadrianus. The coin exhibits the slightly irregular flan characteristic of hammered provincial bronze issues of this era. |

| Description du revers | The river god Alpheios, whose facial features are rendered with characteristics of Antinous, reclines leftward upon stylized waves of water. In his extended right hand he holds a wreath, while his left hand grasps a bundle of reeds. To the left of the figure stands an amphora, a standard attribute associating the deity with the sacred waters of the Alpheios river at Olympia in Elis. The ethnic legend ΗΛΕΙωΝ appears in the field, identifying the issuing community. The composition reflects the deeply Hellenized artistic sensibility of Elean civic coinage under Hadrian's philhellenic reign. |
