The effigy presents the emperor with his characteristic full beard, a hallmark of Hadrianic portraiture. The overall style reflects the refined Trajanic-Hadrianic workshop tradition of the Roman Imperial Mint, with confident relief modelling of the imperial portrait. |

| Описание реверса | Standing figure of Hilaritas, personification of joy and good cheer, depicted facing left in long flowing robes, holding an elongated palm branch in her right hand and a cornucopia in her left. At her sides, two small children — one male, one female — grasp her palm branch and dress respectively, emphasising the theme of public rejoicing. The legend is distributed across the reverse field with the senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) prominently flanking the lower field, as was customary on large bronze imperial coinage. The composition is well-centred and typical of the ambitious allegorical reverse programme characteristic of Hadrian's extensive bronze coinage. |
