| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of the emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curled hair and a full beard characteristic of his portraiture. The paludamentum is fastened at the right shoulder and falls in naturalistic folds across the truncation, visible from the rear or side. The imperial effigy is boldly modelled in the Hadrianic style, conveying authority and idealized portraiture. The circular Latin legend runs along the outer rim of the flan. |
