Obverse description Bare-headed, laureate bust of Emperor Hadrian facing left, rendered with characteristic short curly hair and close-cropped beard, the effigy exhibiting the refined Hellenistic portraiture style favored during his reign. The portrait is set within a fine beaded border, with the imperial legend disposed in a circular arrangement around the periphery of the field. The truncation of the neck is visible at the lower portion of the design, typical of Hadrianic sestertii of this period.
