Reverse description The personification of Clementia, goddess of mercy and clemency, stands in full figure facing left in a graceful contrapposto pose. She is depicted in long flowing robes, extending a patera in her right hand as if in an act of libation, while her left hand rests on a long vertical sceptre. The large senatorial monogram S C (Senatus Consultum) is prominently placed in the field to either side of the figure, affirming the senatorial authority for the issue. The surrounding legend CLEMENTIA AVG COS III P P encircles the design within a beaded border.
