| Reverse description | Standing figures of Trajan (right) and Hadrian (left) face one another, jointly supporting a globe between them, symbolising the transfer of imperial power and shared sovereignty over the Roman world. Trajan is shown in full military dress, while Hadrian appears in toga or paludamentum. The composition is a dynastic allegory commemorating Hadrian's adoption and succession. The exergue is plain, and the senatorial authority mark SC appears prominently in the field. The reverse legend arcs around the upper and lower portions of the design. |
