| Obverse description | Laureate head of Emperor Galba facing right, with a globe depicted at the point of the neck truncation, a characteristic iconographic element of his coinage symbolising world dominion. The effigy portrays the aged emperor with pronounced facial features consistent with his known portraiture. The surrounding field carries the imperial titulature legend in Latin, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The overall style reflects the transitional artistic conventions of the Julio-Claudian to Flavian period, rendered in high relief by hammered dies. |
