| 背面描述 | The reverse presents a civic oak wreath (corona civica), composed of densely rendered oak leaves and acorns arranged in a full wreath encircling the central field. Within the wreath, the honorific inscription S P Q R / OB / CIV SER is displayed in three lines across the field, the legend presented in a monumental epigraphic style. This corona civica reverse type was a deliberate propagandistic device employed by Galba to legitimise his rule by presenting himself as saviour of Roman citizens, echoing Augustan precedents. The flat inner field and the bold, well-spaced lettering are characteristic of the Rome Mint sestertii of AD 68–69. |
