Obverse description Bare-headed and laureate bust of Emperor Galba facing right, depicted with the characteristic aged, realistic portraiture typical of the Flavian-era style. The effigy shows a draped bust with short hair and a wreath of laurel, the legend encircling the portrait in Latin capital letters. The strong, austere facial features reflect the conservative Republican tradition favored by Galba's propaganda. The bust is set within a plain field, with the circumferential legend running from left to right.
