| Obverse description | Bare-headed, laureate bust of Emperor Galba facing right, depicted with a strongly characterised, aged portrait showing prominent jowls and short hair rendered in fine curls, consistent with the official imperial portrait type. The bust is draped and truncated at the shoulder. The encircling legend reads SER GALBA IMP CAES AVG TR P, distributed around the periphery of the field in bold Roman capitals. The portrait conveys the austere, stern character typical of Galbic numismatic imagery produced at the Rome Mint during his brief reign. |
