| 背面描述 | The personification of Roma seated left on a cuirass, helmeted and draped, holding a small Victory figure in her extended right hand and a long spear or parazonium in her left, with a large round shield resting against her side. The figure is rendered in a classical, authoritative style evoking the eternal strength of the Roman state. The legend ROMA appears in the exergue below a ground line, while the senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) flanks the central figure in the left and right fields respectively. |

Galba's reign lasted just seven months, from June 68 to January 69 AD, ending when the Praetorian Guard murdered him in the Roman Forum after withdrawing their support in favor of Otho. His bronze coinage was struck under considerable political pressure — he needed to pay troops and signal legitimacy to a Roman world that had just watched Nero driven to suicide. The ROMA S C bronzes were part of that propagandistic push, invoking traditional senatorial authority at a moment when Galba was actively trying to distance his regime from Neronian excess.
RIC I#245 is among the more frequently documented of his sestertius types, yet surviving examples with intact surfaces are genuinely scarce given the brevity of production.
