Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Galba facing right, rendered in high relief with strong portraiture characteristic of the Julio-Claudian and Flavian transitional period. The emperor is depicted with aged, well-defined facial features, a prominent brow, and a short neck, conveying authority and maturity. A laurel wreath encircles the head, signifying imperial and military honor. The legend encircles the bust, reading from lower left around the periphery of the coin field. The die work reflects the Roman imperial mint's official portrait style adopted during Galba's brief reign.
