Reverse description Standing figure of Emperor Galba in military dress, depicted facing left, his left hand resting upon a vertical spear while his right hand extends in a gesture of address or beneficence toward the personification of Roma. Roma is shown kneeling before the emperor, helmeted and equipped with shield and parazonium, and extends toward Galba a small child, symbolising the restoration and regeneration of the city. The reverse legend ROMA RESTI, flanking the senatorial authority mark S C in the field, proclaims the ideological message of Rome's renewal under Galba's principate.
