| Obverse description | Bare-headed, laureate and draped bust of Emperor Galba facing right, portrayed with the characteristic aged physiognomy of the emperor — prominent features, short neck, and paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The encircling legend is rendered in bold, slightly irregular capital letters consistent with the hasty production of the brief Galban coinage. The portrait reflects the official imperial effigy type adopted during Galba's short reign of AD 68–69. |
