| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Emperor Galba facing right, depicted with a strongly characterised, aged portrait typical of Flavian-era realism. The emperor wears a laurel wreath and his bust is draped, presented in high relief against a flat field. The encircling legend runs clockwise from the lower left, rendered in crisp Latin capitals. The portrait captures the rugged physiognomy for which Galba's coinage is noted in numismatic scholarship. |
