| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a historical scene of dynastic and provincial significance: Emperor Galba, clad in military dress, is depicted seated left upon a curule chair, holding a parazonium in his left hand and extending his right hand toward a personification of Hispania. The female figure of Hispania, draped and standing to the right, holds a palladium in her raised right hand and a cornucopia in her left, symbolising the province's prosperity and its pivotal role in Galba's rise to power. The composition alludes to Galba's origins as governor of Hispania Tarraconensis and the support the province lent to his accession. The exergual and field legend reads HISPANIA CLVNIA SVL, with the senatorial authorisation mark S C flanking the figures. |
