Obverse description Laureate head of Domitian facing left, portrayed with a robust, fleshy physiognomy characteristic of Flavian imperial portraiture. The emperor's hair is rendered in a dense wreath of laurel leaves tied with a ribbon whose ends fall at the nape of the neck. The bust is bare-shouldered and truncated at the base. The encircling Latin legend reads IMP CAES DIVI VESP F DOMITIAN AVG P M, distributed around the full circumference of the coin with the field left largely unadorned.
