Reverse description The reverse depicts two standing figures in the field: a Roman emperor or general, clad in military dress and holding a spear or sceptre, facing right toward the winged goddess Victory, who stands to his right holding a palm frond and extending a wreath toward him in a gesture of coronation or acclamation. Victory's wings are spread prominently behind her, rendered in fine detail. The abbreviated senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consulto) appears in the lower exergual area, flanked by the two figures on a ground line. The composition is enclosed within a beaded border and reflects the standard Domitianic iconographic programme of military triumph and divine favour.
