| Obverse lettering | CAESAR AVG F DOMITIANVS COS VI (Translation: Caesar Augusti FIlius Domitianus Consul Sextum. Caesar, son of the emperor (Augustus), Domitian, consul for the sixth time.) |
| Reverse description | The personification of Spes (Hope) depicted standing left in full figure, her body clothed in a long flowing chiton and himation. She extends her raised right hand forward presenting a flower, while her left hand gathers and lifts the hem of her garment in the characteristic gesture of the Spes type. The monumental senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) is prominently displayed in large letters to either side of the figure in the open field, flanking the goddess. A dotted border runs along the coin's inner rim. |
