(Translation: Caesar Augusti FIlius Domitianus Consul Sextum. Caesar, son of the emperor (Augustus), Domitian, consul for the sixth time.)
Reverse description The personification of Spes (Hope) depicted standing left in full figure, her body clothed in a long flowing chiton and himation. She extends her raised right hand forward presenting a flower, while her left hand gathers and lifts the hem of her garment in the characteristic gesture of the Spes type. The monumental senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) is prominently displayed in large letters to either side of the figure in the open field, flanking the goddess. A dotted border runs along the coin's inner rim.
