The senatorial authorisation monogram S C (Senatus Consultum) flanks the figure on left and right in large, bold letters, as was customary on bronze denominations of the imperial period. The reverse field is largely plain with no exergue line, and the coin exhibits a deep green patina with some earthen deposits. The rendering of Spes conforms to the standard Flavian iconographic type for this deity, consistent with parallel issues under Vespasian. |
